Opportunities for sponsorship at Amersham Swimming Club

Club Background

Amersham Swimming Club is an active, competitive swimming club based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. With around 200 swimming members, the club trains swimmers from the age of 7 right through to adulthood.
We set challenging goals for our swimmers to improve their swimming skills, technique and fitness in order to compete at the highest possible level.
We compete in a number of leagues and competitions giving us local, regional and national level exposure.
For example, we enter two teams into both the Thames Valley Junior League and the Milton Keynes Junior League, where we compete against clubs from areas such as Newbury, Reading, Windsor, High Wycombe, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Aylesbury, Marlow, Ruislip, Acton, and many more.
In the National Speedo League, our senior swimmers travel further afield to Oxford, Southampton, Basingstoke, Guildford and other venues, where they compete against clubs from all over the south east region.
In addition to these leagues, we compete at open meets around the region, the County Championships in Maidenehead, the South East Regional Championships in Crawley and the National Championships in Sheffield.
Each year at our home pool in Amersham, we host three invitation galas, up to six of the above junior league galas and six or more rounds of our own club championships.
Throughout the competitive season, our swimmers will typically gain some column inches in the local press after each competition, sometimes accompanied by a photograph.

Opportunities for Sponsor Exposure

At our home galas, we have many opportunities to make a feature of our sponsor's involvement with the club, including:

*Display of banners
*Advertising in the event programme
*Public address announcements
*Distribution of sponsor promotional material
*Wherever we travel, we wear our club kit with pride and our sponsors can share in this through some *form of kit sponsorship
*Our club website can be used to display a sponsor's logo complete with a link to the sponsor's own website

Why we need help from sponsors:

Swimming is a sport that demands a huge level of commitment and dedication from its participants and those that support them. From the age of 12 our swimmers will most likely be training a minimum of 5 hours a week - up to 14 hours for the most talented. Our biggest expense as a club is the cost of pool time to provide the necessary hours of training. The cost of this and the coaching staff is met by our members through subscription fees.
In addition to these costs, our swimmers (or their parents) spend large sums on kit and entry fees for competitions.
As a club we also occasionally face the need to invest in capital items such as lane ropes and timing equipment and revenue costs such as computer software for meet management and club administration and transport to competitions.
