800m Freestyle
Now that all entries have been processed we are able to confirm that the 800m freestyle events will be scheduled as follows:
All girls heats: Session 4 (Saturday 3rd May)
All boys heats: Session 8 (Sunday 4th May)
Youth Championships - Finals
Now that entries have closed, it is clear that the Youth Championships are oversubscribed.
Rather than reject hundreds of indivdual swims, we have decided to take the following action:
Finals for individual age groups are being replaced with a single final for the fastest 8 swimmers for each stroke/distance. Results for individual age groups will be calculated first on position in the final, and then position in the heats.
Slower competitors in the Multi-Disability events are being asked whether they would be prepared to swim their event in a longer distance Able-Bodied event. This is being done with the support of the Regional Disability Secretary as a means of supporting Disability Swimming within severely constrained pool time. [Swimmers do have the right to refuse this request].
