Thames Valley Junior League 2007 round one

Round 1 of the Thames Valley Junior League 2007 took place at Amersham on Saturday 13 th January.

Two teams from Amersham took on Chesham, Newbury and Slough .

Amersham A team had a superb gala, taking 1 st place in 19 out of 43 races, to finish first overall with 199 points, ahead of Slough (171), Newbury (156), Chesham (144) and Amersham B (120).

Individual events provided 8 winners for Amersham A team. George Marsh won the 10 year 50m breast in a personal best of 55.37 secs. Chloe Veronique won the 11 year 50m fly in a personal best of 34.65 secs, and took the 50m free in a best of 31.79 secs. Daniel Barraclough won the12 year 50m free in 30.98 secs and 50m fly in a personal best of 34.67 secs. Jim Thompson won the 12year 50m backstroke in a personal best of 36.50 secs, Millie Price won the 12 year 50m breast in 42.76 secs, and Nia Kennedy won 12 year fly in a time of 34.52 secs. Other personal best times were achieved by Ben Levart, Laura McCullough, Katie Phillips and Max Elphick.

The excellent Amersham B team took first place in 2 events. The 9 year old boys relay team of Rufus Mahon-Daly, Daniel Loftus, Hugo Bellamy and Bill Hughes won the medley relay, while Katrina Beveridge won the 12 year 50m backstroke. The B team saw personal best times for Dominic Quincey, Lucy Kirkwood, Sabine Bellamy, Alex Finn, Katrina Beveridge, Robert Hughes, Alessandra Quincey, Matt Hazelwood and Harriett Ferguson.
