Haslemere Open Meet 18/19 November 2006

Amersham S.C.'s 11 year old Katherine Shaw excelled at this very popular and prestigious Level 1 annual meet over the weekend. Katherine won all the backstroke races taking the 50m in 34.53s, 100m in 1.12.42s and 200m in 2.36.78s plus a silver in the 100 free and bronze in the 100 fly! With further finalist positions she finished 2nd overall in the BAGCATS AWARDS.

Gareth Fowler won the 16+ 50m backstroke and in the 50 fly swam 28.34s. He also made a top 6 place in the 50 free.

Sophie Elphick (12) continued her excellent form in the 100m breaststoke breaking her own recent age group record with a new time of 1.21.01s for a bronze medal plus a medal in the 50 breast with a p.b. 37.90s.

Nia Kennedy (11) sparkled again taking gold in the 400 free in a p.b 5.03.88s, bronze in the 400IM, bronze in the 50 free and bronze in the 100 free.

Lauren Wye (13) with a p.b. 4.51.21s for 400 free gained bronze and top six places in the 200 fly, 100 free and 50 free with a p.b. 29.6s.
