Windsor Open/Maxwell Meet

Amersham's swimmers enjoyed a highly successful weekend at two Open Meets.
At Maidenhead in the Windsor SC Licenced 2 Open Meet the swimmers won 6 gold medals, 6 silver, 5 bronze, 8 more top 6 placements and many District and County qualifying times.
Katherine Shaw in the 11 year group was outstanding. She won the 100 fly, 200 fly,100 back, 200 back plus 3 top six places.
Lauren Wye in the 12 yr group won the 100 and 200 fly plus 2nd in the 200 IM,3rd in the 200 fs and 5th in the 100 fs. Sarah Pickin (12) won the 100 brst , 2nd in the 200 brst and 4th in the 200 IM.
Elizabeth Hetherington came 2nd in the 100 and 200 brst, 3rd in the 100 fs and 5th in the 100 back.
Sophie Elphick (11) swam a faster 100 brst and 200 brst than the 12 yr olds but in a strong field came 3rd and 2nd respectively.
Sarah Whittaker (15) gained a silver in the 200 IM and bronze in the 200 brst plus 5th in the 50 free.
Alessandra Quincey (10) came 3rd in the 200 back.

At Maxwell in the designated Open Meet Amersham's Gareth Fowler broke the club record for 50m back with a new time of 28.79 for a gold winning swim. He also collected gold in the 100m back final.
