ASA South East Region Age Group Championships 2006

Amersham S.C. had four girls and one boy qualified for the very high quality S.E. District Swim Championships on Saturday and Sunday, the 3rd and 4th June.The small squad were bags full of confidence and almost every time they dived in they gained a personal best time.
11 year old Katherine Shaw produced a stunning 200m backstroke to record 2.42.31 for a Nat. Qualifying time finishing 4th. This showed the very high quality of the swimmers ahead of her, most of whom have many more hours of water time available to them. Katherine finished 5th in the 100m backstroke. Finally a 6th in the 100 fly ended a brilliant weekend for Katherine.
Daniel Barraclough (11) in his first competition long course swam into 4th place with a p.b. in the 100m fly 1.21.98s, and got top 12 placings and pb.'s in the 100 free(9th), 200 bk(12th), 200IM (12th).
Olivia Bailey (12) had a good weekend with pb.'s in the 400 free, 100 fs (8th) and 200 Im (11th).
Megan Davies(11) like Dan swimming in her first long course meet swam p.b. 200 back (8th) and 100 free (11th)
Sophie Elphick (12) will have her main events next weekend but swam well for 2 massive personal bests.
