Joining ASC
There are a number of different sections of Amersham Swimming Club including Swimming, Diving and Masters. Below are further details.
Swimming
To join the club you will need to arrange for an assessment of swimming ability. These usually take place during normal training sessions and will be a stroke and technique assessment carried out by an ASC coach. The swimmer will be expected to demonstrate 2 lengths in each stroke.
The times for the trials are on a Saturday morning at 7am in the main pool or on Sunday at 5pm in the multi pool. If you are interested in joining, please contact Maureen Tomlinson who will arrange a trial if you fulfil the standards detailed below.
Her number is 01494 726967.
The assessment will determine which of the training squads you will join. The amount of time you have to wait to begin with that squad will depend on availability of places in the squad.
There are quarterly squad fees and a one off joining fee, ASA membership fees and annual club membership fees. Further information on current quarterly fees can be seen in the Fees Section.
For information on the ASC swimming section's squad structure click here. For the timetable click here.
To be accepted as new members swimmers must also be prepared to attend the number of sessions required of the squad in which they are offered a place.
In addition to reaching the required swimming standard new members must agree to abide by all club rules. They must also make the commitment to be available when selected to represent the club.
