Diving Section

First and foremost our aim is for people to have FUN whilst learning to dive in a safe and disciplined environment under experienced supervision.
We have 3 fully qualified Diving Teachers with a wealth of experience, and two Poolside Helpers..
Jenni Cluskey - Head Coach
Katie Bell – Coach
Bryan Ditchburn – Coach
Our diving coaches are a mix of County, SCASA, National and International Judges, additionally two are Recorders, and one a Referee. We are also able to call upon past club members who are qualified Diving Teachers, Judges and Referees whenever the need arises – during holidays, ‘come and try’ sessions, competitions etc.
We have 4 levels of diver:
Newcomers – children who have little or no diving experience, usually finding us via diving courses run by Chiltern Pools, or through enquiries having seen training sessions underway. Ages ideally range from 8 to 15.
Juniors – usually children who have come to us from diving courses and progressed from Newcomers. Occasionally we find exceptionally talented children who are fast tracked direct to the junior section. Age range is around 10 to 16
Novice Masters –this is the section for the ‘more mature’ diver aged 18+ starting from scratch or with little diving experience
Masters – this section comprises divers 18+ with past or current competitive diving expertise
There are three diving sessions each week:
Sunday mornings from 8.15 to 12 noon
– split into 4 separate sessions, 2 each for children and masters relevant to levels of expertise
Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8
– juniors who have attained novice or intermediate competitive standard
Thursday evenings from 8 to 9
– all masters divers
Although there is no pressure, we do encourage everyone to compete – from Novice events through to National Championships, and for the older (over 18’s) divers, Regional, National and International Masters Championships.
